Obituary of Shirley Kudran

Shirley Kudran, age 97, of Tamarac, Florida on March 28, 2019. Shirley was born the middle child of Hannah and Nathan Schuldenfrei between Rhoda (deceased) and Melvin (deceased). She married Herbert Kudran and settled near her family in the Bronx, NY until retirement led them to Florida, about 20 years ago. Herbert and Shirley were married more than 60 years, until his death in 2011. Shirley was a true artist by profession and spirit. Over a lifetime, she was prolific, using many different mediums to express her creativity, however, oil painting was her favorite. For years she maintained her own studio in Manhattan. Her husband, Herbert, admired her talent, proudly supporting all her artistic endeavors. Shirley leaves a sister-in-law, Rosalind Schuldenfrei , a niece, Gail Lohman (Charles), a nephew, Kenneth Goldberg ( Rhonda), a great niece, Amy Goldberg (Mary), a great nephew, Steven Goldberg and many beautiful works of art that will be passed on from generation to generation. Her entire family remembers her as kind, generous, light hearted, humorous and entertaining.

A special thanks goes out to her loyal, devoted caregiver of more than a dozen years, Brunette Metayer. Brunette included Shirley in her own family and Shirley spent time enjoying Brunette’s two young sons, referring to them as her grandchildren. Without Brunette’s hard work and compassion, the family would never have been able to cope with Shirley’s increasing health care needs over last years.
