I am so sorry to hear of Ed's passing. I was a student at PRHS in the 70's, were I first met him. But it was later in life that I got to know him better through his trips. He planned the best trips, they were always well planned and very enjoyable. I also appreciated Ed's Great sense of humor, he always made the bus rides fun. Ed and Jackie ran wonderful trips and I would like to thank them both for that.
Ed will be greatly misses by so many. Prayers to his beloved family.

To Jackie, and Ed's family.
You must be so proud of him and all his accomplishments.
His sweet personality endeared him to all who knew him.
We had so much fun on our bus trips.
His wry sense of humor was so great it put us all in a good mood to enjoy our trips.
I am so thankful that he was our tour director and am glad we had such great trips. Because of his love of the theater and events in New York City, we were exposed to the arts and celebrations of life. We may not have ever experienced all the cultures he brought us too. I for one and so glad that I knew him and will never forget him.
Sincerely,.

entertaining and his vast knowledge gave him a real gift of gab!
May Ed Rest in Peace. My deepest condolences to Jackie and his Family.

Ed was an indispensable member of the Pearl River H.S. staff. I asked him to take on the role of dean of students during the turbulent seventies, and he was instrumental
in managing a most difficult task with an even hand and a cool head. Perhaps more importantly, to me at least, was his unwavering support and counsel. I considered him a good friend as well as a valued colleague
We stayed in contact after my retirement in 1982, and he visited us in California on several occasions while traveling with his bus tour clients. I spoke with him by phone this past spring but was unaware of how ill he was at the time. Ed, being Ed, chose not to share his illness but it was clear that he was not in good spirits.
We send our deepest condolences to family, and to his many friends who valued his friendship.

I stumbled across the link to this obituary on Facebook and am so sorry to hear of the passing of Ed Satz. Mr. Satz was one of my favorite teachers. He had a special ability to command respect from students while simultaneously being caring, friendly and approachable. I think I had a special relationship with him -- in the summer of 1968 he invited me to join the staff at the Aladdin Hotel in the Catskills as a camp counselor. That was one of the best summers of my life! I so appreciate the confidence he had in me to hold my own that summer.
I send my condolences to his family. I'm sure he was a comfort and a joy to you and I hope that you will enjoy your memories of him.

As a former student at PRHS, I would often see Dr. Satz dutifully walking the hallways. He always said, "Hello Donna" (knew my name and all of the other student's names) and had a nice comment or compliment to share. Dr. Satz was passionate about working with the students, often, I believe, understanding the crazed, unpredictable and fragile experiences teenagers are going through. With his black curls, often combed to the side, and mustache, he himself was quite a character. He was passionate about English and loved a creative writing class he was teaching. He often stopped my friend, one of his students, in the hallway to tell her how much he enjoyed her stories. Jovial, quirky and serious when he had to be, I always felt like our school was in good hands and protected by him. When I saw a fb post that Dr. Satz passed away, I felt a hollow pit in my stomach because in so many ways Dr. Satz represents a big part of my high school history, one in which he left many indelible memories. His kindness and good nature will remain with me always. God Bless him and his family.

I graduated Pearl River HIgh School in 1971 and he had a profound positive effect on my life. At a time when I needed support and adult guidance he was there for me. His efforts were out of concern and interest in doing the right thing for a young person. He was very real, and sincerely cared. Be Thou at Peace.

I wish to send of condolences to the family of "Mr. Satz"
One could not have gone to Pearl River Schools and not had been positively influenced by this great man. I know at the time many, of us probably thought that Ed gave us a hard time and a run for our money in his maintaining order in school. In retrospect, I think we really gave him the hard time.
I will never forget how disappointed he was in me the day I stuck my head in the boys bathroom to alert the student smokers is Ed's impending visit.
Mr. Satz never taught me a class, he did teach me a lot. A lot about respect, fairness, honesty and how tho generally stay out of trouble.
Nerd, stoner,or jock, Ed saw good in all of us. He was the strongest gentle man I think I have ever met.
Ed you will be missed but never forgotten
Thank you for your lessons.

The sorrow felt when a loved one passes goes deep within your heart. Tears may fall upon a memory of a special day, a familiar place or a song played on the radio. Rejoice in those memories. Let the tears fall and share your memories with friends and family. Know that his spirit lives on in those memories. May you find comfort surrounded by the love of family and friends during this time of deep sorrow.
Rest in peace Mr Satz.
