Obituary of Barry Muchnick

Barry Muchnick was born on December 6, 1935, in Brooklyn, NY. Barry was the firstborn child of David and Ethel Muchnick. From the moment he was born, Barry wanted to take care of all those around him, especially his younger sister Elaine. In 1974, Barry married the love of his life, the late Arleen Muchnick, and two years later, their daughter Jaime joined her siblings, Renee, David, and Marc. Barry loved all of his children dearly. Barry and his family spent many happy years living in Hillsdale, NJ until he and Arleen made their move to Florida where they enjoyed twenty amazing years together. Recently, Barry and Arleen made their way back to NJ, where they spent their last months together at CareOne at the Cupola. On June 13th, 2020, at the age of 84, Barry passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his children Renee (Rick), David (Karen), Marc, and Jaime; his 8 grandchildren, Josh (Danielle), Lindsey (Matthew), Hayley, Nikki, Kristi, Sindi, Jessi, and Lanni; his nieces and nephews Stacey (Alan), Eric (Alex), and Jessica. He was preceded in death by his wife, Arleen. His family finds great comfort knowing that they are now reunited in peace. Barry will always be remembered as the most kind, intelligent, loving, gentle, warm, and funny man we have ever known. He will be deeply missed but will live on in our hearts forever. Services for Barry Muchnick will be held on 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at Chapel Service at Eden Memorial Chapels in Fort Lee, NJ (327 Main St.), with a burial to follow at Mount Moriah Cemetery in Fairview, NJ (685 Fairview Ave.). Current gathering restrictions dictate a 50 person maximum attendance at the chapel.
