Obituary of Sylvia Lewin

NORTH BERGEN - Sylvia Lewin (nee Rosenstrauch) of North Bergen, NJ (formerly of West New York) passed away on January 27, 2021.She is predeceased by her husband Lazare and survived by her son Claude, daughter-in-law Lori, grandson Ncholas and several cousins.

Sylvia was a child of the Holocaust era, born in Germany on September 11, 1929 and lived in Germany, France & Italy in the years leading up to and during WWII trying to avoid Nazi persecution. After WWII she lived in Argentina for about 10 years before finding permanent refuge in the United States 65 years ago. 

Burial will be private on Sunday January 31 at Mount Moriah Cemetery, Fairview; arrangements by Eden Memorial Chapel, Fort Lee. Donations in her memory may be made to https://forms.yadvashem.org/tribute or https://www.templesinaibc.org/(Rabbi’s discretionary fund)
