I was a Server at The Glen and always waited on Morey!! I will miss the sit down times I had with him at lunch and dinner. I miss hearing him say Hey Laurie it’s Morey to which I would reply Hey Morey it’s Laurie. He will truly be missed. RIP my friend!!!

Morey always enjoyed holding CC, my toy poodle. It made him feel truly happy. To this day, we cannot pass by Morey’s apartment at The Glen without CC wanting to go see her friend.

I miss Morey. He joined the men’s group at The Glen almost every day and always had a good word for everyone. I remember he would greet me with, “Mike Barry! I have a brother named Barry!” Sometimes he would add a story about another resident here, Ray Berry, exclaiming “He doesn’t know how to spell his own name!” My wife, Sharla and I had dinner with him about a week before he passed and thoroughly enjoyed his banter and wisdom. He was a very private person yet was known throughout our community; to say we miss him is an understatement.

I've been so saddened by Morey's unexpected passing. I may be the first Glen resident who met Morey before we moved in. We were on the same golf cart for Glen tour in June 2019. I've got to know Morey, often chatting, making jokes, discussing stock markets and catching up.... He used to carry a book, Retirement on Dividends. He enjoyed going to happy hours surrounded by residents as well as men's meetings. I have a vivid memory of talking to him 2 days before he passed away when he was sitting in a long couch near the koi pond. His spirit is present at the Glen, particularly happy hours. God lift his spirit and bless him rest in peace.

Please delete the first message as I misspelled Morey's name! Here is the proper message:
We were saddened to hear of Morey's passing and relieved that it was peaceful. While we didn't know Morey very well, he always had a cheerful greeting for us, and he did share some of his history with us. Our condolences to his brother and family members.

We got to know Morey here at the glen. He certainly "marched to his own drummer" and was a kindly soul. We will miss his conversations and his way of looking at life. He always wanted to join in and we thank those that included him. We will miss him.

My name is Tom Mack. I got to know Morey at our times for coffee here at the Glen at Scripps Ranch. We would meet most mornings around 8:00. I learned to appreciate Morey because he went out of his way to be a friend. He would look on his phone
ask me questions about Tom Mack. There is much written about the Hall Of Fame football player named Tom Mack. He is in Cleveland Ohio too. He was sure that was me. We had many jokes about that. I was sorry to lose Morey. He was a kind and sincere man. I thought he always had something good to say about his fellow resident here at the Glen.
God Bless Morey. May he rest in peace.
From Morey's Friend here at the Glen,
Tom Mack

At The Glen, Morey was a member of our M.O.T. (Members of the Tribe) and participated in all of our Jewish Holiday gatherings. Morey enjoyed joining in, visiting with everyone and he always asked when we could all gather together again. We extend our sympathies to his family and may warm, loving memories always come to mind.

To Morey's Family,
Morey was a member of the Glen at Scripps Ranch. I got to know him through the Financial Group here. Due to Covid restrictions we had most meetings on zoom and Morey always shared his insights. He loved stocks that paid dividends!! He also would share a joke or two.
I am so sorry for your loss and our group honored him at one meeting.
Sincerely Stefana Brintzenhoff

Ted Barbusinski posted a condolence

Hi. My name is Ted I am a friend of Morey's in San Diego. Morey was a unique person in many ways. His favorite thing to do would be to find a comfortable chair in the corner of a Starbucks and greet people as they went by. He would try to connect with perfect strangers on a daily basis. Morey struggled with many problems and his life was not an easy one. Yet, he was a spiritual person who looked for God in the simple things that came his way every day.
I'm glad I had a change to know Morey in this world and I hope to see him again in the next.
Best Wishes to the family. Ted Barbusinski
