Obituary of Edward Morton Coen

Coen, Edward, passed peacefully 6/4/15. Born 5/7/30. Devoted husband to Hanna Coen, loving father to Robert Coen Sr, the late Andrea Goodman and daughter-in-law Kathleen Coen. Adoring grandfather to Kayla Goodman, Allston Ward, Annie Coen, Jacqueline Malinowski, Jillian Coen and Robert Coen Jr. Edward was a man larger than life and lived every day to the fullest. After playing for the Brooklyn Dodgers, he served our country in 1951 in a specialized unit of the Military Police in Berlin, Germany during the Korean War. He was Margaret Truman's personal escort and protected high ranking officials. After his time in the military, he joined Stetsons where he became the leading salesman and serviced dignitaries. He then went on to own Edward's Men's Clothing Store in Brooklyn, NY. After spending 15 years in Tampa, Fla in the water purification business, he moved back to the New York metro area to be close to his family and help raise his adoring grandchildren. Ed loved sports, music and always had a kind word or hearty joke for acquaintances or loved ones alike. He will be buried on 6/5/15 in New Montefiore Cemetery, Pinelawn, NY.
